Strapping
is a very useful way by which products and items can be properly
packed and send for shipment. This process can be used for any type
of item, irrespective of its nature and dimensions. For the purpose
of packaging of goods different types of items are required, like
straps, tools, machines, dispensers, buckles etc. The straps that are
used can again be classified into varied types according to the
material with which it is made like steel plastic and paper. Steel
straps are the ones that are being used for decades and are still
required in heavy duty purposes.
The plastics straps are of different
types like polyester, polypropylene and nylon. The polyester is the
strongest among the plastic bands and are highly used in medium to
heavy duty purposes as it has very good recovery properties and thus
do not break under the impact of breaking. The nylon bands are also
used but being costly they are now replaced by the polyester ones.
The place where it still finds application is in cold rooms. These
days’ paper straps are also being used for banding items made of
paper. Thus a person has various options while choosing strapping supplies.
Along
with the bands other types of equipment(s) are also required for
securing the goods. These are either handheld tools or machines. The
machines are of two types namely semi-automatic and fully automatic.
The main difference between a strapping system
using hand held tools and machines is in the amount of work that is
needed to be done. The machines are much more efficient and can also
complete the work in much less time.
Another form of dissimilarity is
in the presence of dispensers. While the machines are equipped with
inbuilt dispensers, the hand devices are not and thus requires a
separate one. A very important thing is to remember that there are
different types of strapping systems
and they have their own functionality. One should always use the
right products and devices to make the process an effective one.
